So the next Streetprov production will soon be upon us! It is going to take place on Saturday, May 8th in TWO different cities. The first will be in Leiden and the second will be in The Hague. Without devulging too many details, it will involve an orchestra, some very unconventional instruments, and, hopefully, you! This will definitely not be one flashmob to miss, or forget! With some help from Eazie Restaurants, we are going to shock, amuse, and entertain a lot of unsuspecting people in a very unexpected way! The best way to describe it will be a mix between Stomp, Vegetable Orchaestra, and Improv Everywhere Musicals. Check out the links below to see these productions.
It will take place at Leiden Central Station in the mid-afternoon, and a to-be-determined location in The Hague in the late afternoon. Keep you schedule free for this day ’cause it’s going to be a blast!
Check back here and join our facebook group for more updates!

]]>The anniversary party we had planned for tomorrow (Wednesday) will not be happening because of some unexpected developments, so we will have to delay it ’til Miguel and myself get back from Portugal next week. In the meantime, check out the video, keep brainstorming new ideas for future productions and have a great Valentine’s Day!
Hey Streetprov’rs!
Some big events are coming up in the world of Streetprov. So, for all you who do not already know, this is for you…
“Valentine: The Musical” is tomorrow, Saturday, February 6th! This will be a great production! For all of you at the rehearsal last week, here is the ‘refresher’ video. It is in two parts due to Youtube’s video-length policy. If you weren’t at the rehearsal last week and still wish to join, check out the video, do your best to memorize the ‘ensemble’ lyrics and choreography and we’ll see everyone at Boom Chicago tomorrow at 10 a.m. for the briefing before the event. The scene will take place around 12:30, and we will all be back at Boom by about 13:00 to have a few drinks and chat about the production.
And…
This Wednesday, February 10th, we will be having a little one-year anniversary party for Streetprov at Boom Chicago. We will be debuting the upcoming Valentine’s Musical as well as the much-anticipated, (and much delayed) Bohemian Rhapsody flashmob video. We’ll also showcase past Streetprov productions and chat about future ones as well. Come out for cheap beer and wine (€3 pints, €2 wine) and celebrate with us!

Hello Streetprov’ers!
It is time for the next Streetprov scene! This is going to be a very special one, because it’s going to be the celebration of our one-year-anniversary!
To celebrate this with a bang, we’ve composed our very own musical scene: Valentine! The Musical.
This great event will take place on Saturday, February 6th, in a big department store near the Dam. It will likely take place in the mid-afternoon, around 14:00.
This is going to be the first ever non-commercial Musical Flashmob performed in Holland, and it will be a blast! But in order for that to happen, we need you!
So, have you always wanted to perform in a musical, is it your lifetime goal to put a smile on people’s faces, is Valentine your favourite holiday ever, or all of the above, don’t hesitate! Send an e-mail to , entitled Streetprov Musical. Please state in this e-mail whether you would like a solo part or an ensemble part. In return, you will receive from us the lyrics and music.
Prior to February 6th, we will schedule a day of training, to get the singing in sync and to practice the simple yet awesome choreography.
Come look with us on the brightest side of life!
Check the website or the facebook group for past and future events!
And for those of you who are thinking to themselves, “this sounds cool, but what about the Bohemian Rhapsody video?” Well, after much effort to retrieve the footage we have been missing, it seems as though it is lost forever. So, although it has been said before, the video will be finished soon with the footage we do have. Keep an eye out for it. In the meantime, I will offer you with another great interpretation of this epic hit with epic characters-

Great job to everyone who came out for the “Bohemian Rhapsody” flashmob! A very passionate and energetic group came out and rocked the Leidseplein to the surprise, and joy, of many onlookers. The only thing that was more enjoyable than surprising the hundreds of people who were unexpectedly entertained by the 70’s hit, was rehearsing the all the dance moves inside the Boom Chicago theater! Thanks to Mike D. for all his great choreography, Amber Ruffin for her balcony singing solo, David Schmoll for his roof-top guitar solo, Nina Pavlovska, Mo and all the other cameramen, and everyone who came out to participate! The video will be edited as soon as possible, which may be about a week and a half, as Miguel will be taking off on vacation for a little while. It will be posted here, on facebook, and on youtube. We’ll let everyone know when we release it! Stay tuned for the next Streetprov event!

It’s time for the next Streetprov scene! This is going to be an end-of-summer celebration with everyone’s favorite 70’s hit – “Bohemian Rhapsody” by Queen, and a tribute to one of the most gifted vocalists of our time, Freddy Mercury.
It will take place on Sunday, August 30th , on the Leidseplein. We will meet at 12:00 at Boom Chicago. Inside the theater, which we have booked for the event, we will meet everyone who will be involved in this memorable production.
By mid-afternoon, we will perform the most impressive, and possibly the first, Queen flashmob ever made. When was the last time you sang Bohemian Rhapsody?! It was probably just last week. Everybody loves singing this song, with amazing lyrics, incredible voice melodies and epic guitar solos.
On scene we will have trained, professionals teaching everyone how to perform this masterpiece that would even make Freddy Mercury feel jealous.
We are expecting a crowd of over a hundred people and both singers and non-singers are welcome to join us for this fun and unique Sunday afternoon. Brings friends, family, kids, grandparents, and the family freakin’ dog, everyone will want to be involved.

Thanks to everyone who came out for Tour d`Amsterdam North Ferry Ride! It was a huge success and we got some great reactions. We definitely accomplished what we set out to do which was to make the boring, monotonous 1 minute ferry ride to the north of Amsterdam just a little more exciting! We may have even increased the self-esteem for one young boy for life… at least it seemed like it until we demanded he return the trophy.
Check back soon because the video will be finished soon! Also don´t forget to sign up and become a Streetprov´r in order to be a part of future productions!
Thanks again,
The Streetprov Team

It is time for Streetprov’s next event!
It will be held on SUNDAY, JUNE 7TH at 1 p.m.! Now we know that this means we don’t have very much time to get organized but we know we can do it! This event will once again be in collaboration with Partisan Publik. There was a HUGE turnout for the last event, about 150 people which was quite impressive. Let’s see if we can get close to those kinds of numbers for next Sunday.
We will be meeting near the back of Centraal Station. We will send out a specific meeting location big enough to hold all of us soon.
We will be putting on a surprise bike race for all the lucky people riding the free ferry between Amsterdam Centraal Station and Amsterdam North. For those who take this somewhat monotonous one minute ride everyday, this will definitely liven things up a bit.
All the ferry passengers on bikes who are about to board will quickly find that they are participants in a race. There will be a “Start” banner, a starting line ribbon, and cheering fans on the sides encouraging the racers. The first half of the race will be a grueling 10 meter marathon, until they reach the ferry which is the mid-way point.
The ride across the IJ river will be a much needed opportunity for our race participants to rest. When on the ferry, Streetprov’rs will take the role of coaches and assistants.
We’ll help all the bike racers with everything they need to get them through the rest of the race - rehydration, power bars, bike repairs, words of encouragement - everything! When the ferry docks one minute later, the second half of the race begins. After another exhausting 10 meter ride, the racers will pass through the finish line. There will be even more cheering fans, congratulatory signs, a winners podium and a giant trophy!
Our own little piece of the Tour de France right here in Amsterdam! This event will also bring more attention to Amsterdam North as it is a beautiful area with giant, sprawling park very close to the disembarking point of the ferry. Not many people take advantage of this urban oasis so Partisan Publik wants to spread the word about it and this is a great event to encourage that!
Please come out and join us for this really fun production!
Due to our time constraint, there are quite a few things to do and props to get to make this happen. So, with that said, if anyone has anything that could be used in the scene, please bring it!
Items like waterbottles, sweatbands, sweat towels, bike pumps, bike oil, power/energy bars, aluminum survival blankets, a yellow jersey for the winner, megaphones, and orange vests are all needed. Please email us with anything you might have, or anything you know someone else might have. And please feel free to include any ideas or suggestions you might have as well!
Another message will be sent out shortly with the exact meeting place.
Hope to see you all there next SUNDAY, JUNE 7th AT 1 P.M.!
In the meantime, enjoy this beautiful weather!

Hey Streetprov Players!
On the 22nd of March (not the 15th as announced earlier) Streetprov will be putting on our next performance.
We will once again be meeting at the Nieuwmarkt for the event details. We will be meeting at 2 p.m., not 1 p.m. This is to give everyone a little bit more time to sleep off their saturday night hangover.
We’ll be performing ‘Temporary Celebrity’ for sure, and possibly 1 or 2 other scenes.
The scene will take place in Dam Square. The specific details of the event will be given beforehand. It will basically consist of one guy getting treated like a world-famous celebrity for about 2 minutes. This will involved screaming “fans”, intimidating bodyguards and confused on-lookers. The only props we need will be cameras. Please bring your cameras to the event and get ready to someone as famous as Brad Pitt, David Beckham and Barack Obama all rolled into one very confused stranger.
It is important to note that the person to be chosen as the “celebrity” will be a willing participant (sort of) who will have a sense of humor. If he has a postive reaction from the 1st couple fans, then he will be the event’s star performer. If he does not wish to be sign an autograph or pose for a picture, we will not continue with him as the scene’s ‘celebrity’.
The scene will conclude with all his ‘fans’ realizing that he is not the ‘celebrity’ who they thought he was. It is at this time that everyone quickly leaves the area, scattering in all directions, including his bodyguards. Leaving him, and many others who witnessed the scene, very confused.
The reactions from all who are not involved in the production will no doubt be fascinating to watch.
After the scene takes place with this willing ‘celebrity’, he will be asked if it is alright to use the footage for the video. If he agrees, great. If not, all footage will be deleted and we’ll perform another scene soon thereafter. We want this to be fun for everyone, even if they have no idea what’s happening.
If you can just make it for the one performance, it will only be about an hour of your time. If you wish to take part in a few other scenes that we will likely be filming, it will take 2 or 3 hours. And, like last time, we’ll all head to a bar or cafe afterwards and talk about the scenes. Everyone had a great time at the last event and we’re sure that this one will be even better!
Hope to see everyone there!

Hello Streetprov’rs
The time as come to make our first scene happen, and for that, we will need all of you guys to help. The purpose of this first event is to create a spontaneous and entertaining scene in order to brighten someones day. We will be filming the event to capture the reactions of the random pedestrians who happen to be walking past dam square.
We will meet Sunday the 15th at 13:00 (1 p.m.) at Nieuwmarkt next to De Waag Café to gather around and explain to you in detail how things will work in the scene.
Everyone will be then divided into two groups. One group will be walking away from Dam Square(in damrak) and the other towards Dam Square(in damrak also). Those walking away from Dam Square towards Centraal Station on the Damrak will “see something” in the sky just above Centraal station.
Upon seeing it, the players will react through a series of emotions. Generally, they will start with curioisty, then surprise, then suspiciousness, then fear, then terror. By now everybody will start to run to the center of Dam square. Some people can be praying to god, others swearing, others screaming their lungs out (use your imagination, BE CREATIVE!!!).
There will be a person starting the scene who will take the lead within the group so as everyone knows the cue to begin the scene, as well as the reactions to follow. When the lead player begins to run, all will follow soon thereafter. Both groups will reach the center of Dam square and will now realize that whatever was chasing them is coming from kalverstraat (madam tussauds side) and turn around and run towards kalverstraat (abn side). You will be following the lead player, although if you are at the end of the group and you see everyone turning around and running in the opposite direction you should just run towards the same point, the kalverstraat (abn side) instead of reaching the center.
We are now entering the last part of the scene where we run through kalverstraat creating panic and by this time you guys should gradually start running to the small side streets and stop reacting .
As you guys can see its a very simple and funny scene, we will have created surprise, panic, fear and a smile on peoples faces, making their day one to remember.
People will wonder what are this guys doing?! is this set up it’s not?! should i run also?! should i look and try to see what are they running away from?! Well those are the reactions we want to capture on film and for that we count on YOU!!! Acting skills or not we are here to have fun.
If you think that is time to get out of the same old school-home or work-home routine come and join us for a fun sunday afternoon!
