So the Not-So-Eazie Orchestra on May 8th went really well and we want to thank everyone once again for coming out. Never have a bunch of random kitchen utensils banged together sounded so good, nor been as much fun! Although the weather didn’t completely cooperate with the scene, we still managed to pull off a great production! As an added bonus, the NS security gave us no trouble for performing (and filming) within Leiden Central Station. So a big thanks to them as well (as I’m sure being an NS security guard is a thankless job).
The video has been completed and we will be releasing the Streetprov version shortly. We will be planning at least couple more productions for this summer so keep an eye out here and we will let you know!
Cheers,
The Streetprov Team

So the next Streetprov production will soon be upon us! It is going to take place on Saturday, May 8th in TWO different cities. The first will be in Leiden and the second will be in The Hague. Without devulging too many details, it will involve an orchestra, some very unconventional instruments, and, hopefully, you! This will definitely not be one flashmob to miss, or forget! With some help from Eazie Restaurants, we are going to shock, amuse, and entertain a lot of unsuspecting people in a very unexpected way! The best way to describe it will be a mix between Stomp, Vegetable Orchaestra, and Improv Everywhere Musicals. Check out the links below to see these productions.
It will take place at Leiden Central Station in the mid-afternoon, and a to-be-determined location in The Hague in the late afternoon. Keep you schedule free for this day ’cause it’s going to be a blast!

So it has been a great first year for Streetprov! There have been six productions, hundreds of Streetprov’rs, and thousands of entertained, and completely shocked, members of the public. As enjoyable as it is to participate in these productions, what really causes a scene to turn from good to great are the smiles that we see. We here at Streetprov would like to thank everyone who has participated in Streetprov’s success. The support we have received from individuals getting involved has been tremendous. People who want to be a part of Streetprov, on either side of the camera lens, are the ones who make these scenes possible.
We have just finished the last video for Valentine’s Musical, which you can check out on the “Video” section. It does run a little longer than the 4:30 needed, but that will be corrected soon. We will be re-mastering all the videos next month and putting them on a DVD with some special features. An announcement will be made to invite everyone out for drinks to celebrate. We already have some ideas brewing for future scenes and are always open to new ones!
In the meantime, check back soon for updates on all the upcoming events! Thanks again and lets keep the improvolution going!

Hey everyone! So “Valentine: The Musical” went really well! Bijenkorf shoppers were definitely taken by surprise when 30+ individuals broke out into song when they found the ‘perfect gift’. With participants ranging from the ages of 10 to 50, we had a great group of dynamic characters that really created a wonderful scene. The video is almost finished and will be released tomorrow. Due to a few technical issues with the cameras and sound, we didn’t get some of the best shots we were hoping but it still will be a great video. Everything, for the most part, went off without a hitch. However, Miguel may require some help from Streetprov’rs to go to the Bijenkorf to buy the perfect gift because he is not allowed in to it for the next 12 months or he will get arrested for trespassing. Hilarious! Kudos to him though for saving the footage and refusing the demands of security guards to delete the footage!
The anniversary party we had planned for tomorrow (Wednesday) will not be happening because of some unexpected developments, so we will have to delay it ’til Miguel and myself get back from Portugal next week. In the meantime, check out the video, keep brainstorming new ideas for future productions and have a great Valentine’s Day!
Hey Streetprov’rs!
Some big events are coming up in the world of Streetprov. So, for all you who do not already know, this is for you…
“Valentine: The Musical” is tomorrow, Saturday, February 6th! This will be a great production! For all of you at the rehearsal last week, here is the ‘refresher’ video. It is in two parts due to Youtube’s video-length policy. If you weren’t at the rehearsal last week and still wish to join, check out the video, do your best to memorize the ‘ensemble’ lyrics and choreography and we’ll see everyone at Boom Chicago tomorrow at 10 a.m. for the briefing before the event. The scene will take place around 12:30, and we will all be back at Boom by about 13:00 to have a few drinks and chat about the production.
And…
This Wednesday, February 10th, we will be having a little one-year anniversary party for Streetprov at Boom Chicago. We will be debuting the upcoming Valentine’s Musical as well as the much-anticipated, (and much delayed) Bohemian Rhapsody flashmob video. We’ll also showcase past Streetprov productions and chat about future ones as well. Come out for cheap beer and wine (€3 pints, €2 wine) and celebrate with us!

Hello Streetprov’ers!
It is time for the next Streetprov scene! This is going to be a very special one, because it’s going to be the celebration of our one-year-anniversary!
To celebrate this with a bang, we’ve composed our very own musical scene: Valentine! The Musical.
This great event will take place on Saturday, February 6th, in a big department store near the Dam. It will likely take place in the mid-afternoon, around 14:00.
This is going to be the first ever non-commercial Musical Flashmob performed in Holland, and it will be a blast! But in order for that to happen, we need you!
So, have you always wanted to perform in a musical, is it your lifetime goal to put a smile on people’s faces, is Valentine your favourite holiday ever, or all of the above, don’t hesitate! Send an e-mail to , entitled Streetprov Musical. Please state in this e-mail whether you would like a solo part or an ensemble part. In return, you will receive from us the lyrics and music.
Prior to February 6th, we will schedule a day of training, to get the singing in sync and to practice the simple yet awesome choreography.
Come look with us on the brightest side of life!
Check the website or the facebook group for past and future events!
And for those of you who are thinking to themselves, “this sounds cool, but what about the Bohemian Rhapsody video?” Well, after much effort to retrieve the footage we have been missing, it seems as though it is lost forever. So, although it has been said before, the video will be finished soon with the footage we do have. Keep an eye out for it. In the meantime, I will offer you with another great interpretation of this epic hit with epic characters-

Great job to everyone who came out for the “Bohemian Rhapsody” flashmob! A very passionate and energetic group came out and rocked the Leidseplein to the surprise, and joy, of many onlookers. The only thing that was more enjoyable than surprising the hundreds of people who were unexpectedly entertained by the 70’s hit, was rehearsing the all the dance moves inside the Boom Chicago theater! Thanks to Mike D. for all his great choreography, Amber Ruffin for her balcony singing solo, David Schmoll for his roof-top guitar solo, Nina Pavlovska, Mo and all the other cameramen, and everyone who came out to participate! The video will be edited as soon as possible, which may be about a week and a half, as Miguel will be taking off on vacation for a little while. It will be posted here, on facebook, and on youtube. We’ll let everyone know when we release it! Stay tuned for the next Streetprov event!

It’s time for the next Streetprov scene! This is going to be an end-of-summer celebration with everyone’s favorite 70’s hit – “Bohemian Rhapsody” by Queen, and a tribute to one of the most gifted vocalists of our time, Freddy Mercury.
It will take place on Sunday, August 30th , on the Leidseplein. We will meet at 12:00 at Boom Chicago. Inside the theater, which we have booked for the event, we will meet everyone who will be involved in this memorable production.
By mid-afternoon, we will perform the most impressive, and possibly the first, Queen flashmob ever made. When was the last time you sang Bohemian Rhapsody?! It was probably just last week. Everybody loves singing this song, with amazing lyrics, incredible voice melodies and epic guitar solos.
On scene we will have trained, professionals teaching everyone how to perform this masterpiece that would even make Freddy Mercury feel jealous.
We are expecting a crowd of over a hundred people and both singers and non-singers are welcome to join us for this fun and unique Sunday afternoon. Brings friends, family, kids, grandparents, and the family freakin’ dog, everyone will want to be involved.
